What to Expect From "Living Things"
Fans of Linkin Park can expect the band to explore new creative avenues on their upcoming album, Living Things. Multi-instrumentalist Mike Shinoda says that the band experimented with a variety of genres on the new album.
“There are a lot of things about [Living Things] that were really fresh for us,” Shinoda tells ABC News Radio. “There was an infusion of some electronic stuff, an infusion of some folk stuff and then you start mashing that up with like really cutting edge sounds and I think we found some things that were really interesting to us.”
Shinoda added that the tracks on Living Things will reflect the band’s ever-evolving songwriting process. “When we get into the studio we want to do something that’s challenging for us and hopefully challenging for the fans,” he explains. “We’ve learned a lot of new things about how to write a song, how to record a song and all of it put together is kind of how we ended up where we’re at right now with the new album and everything. We’re thrilled for people to hear it.”
Living Things will arrive in stores on June 26. You'll get the chance to check out the songs performed live when LP kicks off their co-headlining tour with Incubus on August 11 at Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, VA.
