LP Live Stream
Here's your chance to check out Linkin Park live -- and you don't even need to buy a ticket. The band has just announced that they'll be beaming a special live concert from Los Angeles straight to your computer for free next week. The concert is part of Rio+Social, a global conversation organized by the United Nations Foundation which focuses on the intersection of social media, technology and the development of sustainable energy. "We believe today's youth are global citizens and are better connected and informed than any previous generation," said bassist Dave "Phoenix" Farrell in a statement. "Rio+Social is an historic opportunity allowing youth to participate in the global discussion about critical issues like sustainability in a way that has not been possible before." In addition to LP’s performance, the band will participate in a discussion about how the power of music, gaming and social media can be used to address some of the world's sustainable energy challenges. You’ll be able to watch LP’s concert on June 19 at YouTube.com/TheWarnerSound at 6:30 p.m. ET. Visit RioPlusSocial.com for more info. In other LP news, a new song from the band's upcoming album, Living Things, will be featured in the soundtrack for the film Abe Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, which opens in theaters on June 22. According to Billboard.com, the last song on the album, "Powerless," will be playing during the movie's end credits.
