Almost Never Happened!

Travis Barker never thought Blink 182 would release another CD after his plane crash. He says, "Honestly, I never thought the album would be finished. For a while after my accident, I was just recovering. No one really thought I would be able to play drums after all the surgeries and everything. That was always on my mind. Once I was in the studio, it was like, 'I can walk now, I can play the drums still. I have to finish this.'" Barker underwent 16 surgeries and almost lost his foot as he battled to recover from his injuries. It was sketchy, so I came a long way. And mentally I was a basket case. "It was a big amount of time to get off of 20 medications that they had me on, and then physically getting in shape. It was heavy."

New Blink

Blink 182 will release a new CD in 2011. Mark Hoppus says, ''We've been busy with new songs and ideas. Some tracks are very near complete. In rough terms, I'd say we're working with the better part of ten or so songs at this point. 'There's still a long way to go before the album is done. But already it seems like the songs are both taking a step even further than we took on the last album, while also going back to the sound of some of the earlier albums.''

All My Friends

Travis Barker says his solo CD will include appearances by Slash and Linkin Park. "We got a new Blink song on there, I think I'm going to do something with Chester Bennington from Linkin Park. Hopefully a guest appearance from Slash, I'm doing his big fundraiser that happens this month. I think there's going to be a collaboration with [Kanye West's touring DJ] A-Track, so it's gonna be really in all directions."
