Some of the drivers operating refrigerated trucks in L.A. are charging people $10 for 10 minutes inside their coolers. On Monday, temps reached 113. Yesterday, the high was 95. The drivers say construction sites and road crews have become gold mines since the beginning of the week.

Beer to the rescue!

California's Wildlife Waystation used Budweiser beer trucks to evacuate hundreds of exotic animals, including grizzly bears, tigers and lions. As wildfires closed in on the refuge, volunteers quickly hearded the animals onto 18 wheelers that were bound for safety.
