Total Recall MMO

Chinese gaming company ZQGame announced plans today for an MMO game based on the upcoming film Total Recall. The film, set for release next year, is a remake of the 1990 movie and stars Colin Farrell as the guy Arnold Schwarzenegger played in original.

The game will be fully 3D and entirely browser based, with no need to download any software. ZQGame promises that the game will feature console quality graphics, and will also be free to play. According to the developer, the game will support itself with "micro-transactions containing a hybrid of features from traditional MMOs and social games, such as PVP and PVE environments and a collaborative "memory quest" system."

The game will officially release on August 3 of next year, the same day as the film. Read more HERE

Angry Birds RULE!

Bigger than "Super Mario Bros.", bigger than "Tetris", bigger than "Grand Theft Auto" . . . even bigger than "Pong". And "Angry Birds" has only been around for two years. It's much cheaper than other games . . . it costs a few bucks, while games for the Xbox or Wii generally cost $40 to $60 . . . but sales are sales. And thanks to an explosion in people playing games on their phones, "Angry Birds" is number one. For comparison, "Tetris" appears to be the second-most popular game ever, with over 175 million sales. Will U Wii U??

Nintendo announced their newest console yesterday, the Wii U. The centerpiece of Nintendo's new gaming system is their gadget-packed controller. There's a 6.2-inch touch screen in the middle of the controller, plus it also has a front-facing camera, gyroscope, and microphone. You can even keep playing games on the controller's screen even if somebody else is watching TV. The Wii U is backwards compatible with all Wii games and devices, which means you can still use your old-school Wii remotes and balance boards with your new console. The Super Mario Brothers are trying to break up your marriage. According to an annual study, up to 15% of divorces now cite VIDEO GAMES as a contributing factor to the marriage breaking up. ZOMBIES!!!

People who've played "Call of Duty: Black Ops" know it includes a zombie mode where four players fight an army of the undead. You play as John F. Kennedy, Fidel Castro, Richard Nixon and JFK's Secretary of Defense, Robert McNamara. That's pretty cool in and of itself. But you're really going to love what they're putting into the latest downloadable map pack. This time, the four people fighting the zombies are "Machete" star Danny Trejo, "Nightmare on Elm Street" legend Robert Englund (a.k.a. Freddy Krueger), "Buffy the Vampire Slayer's" Sarah Michelle Gellar, and one of the guys from AMC's zombie show "The Walking Dead". The actor's name is Michael Rooker, but you'd know him as Merle, the racist redneck they handcuffed to the roof. He's pretty bad-ass on the show too. By the time they went back to rescue him, he'd cut off his own hand and cauterized the stump. But wanna know the best part? The whole thing is inspired by "Night of the Living Dead" genius George A. Romero and George Romero himself has been added to the list of enemies as sort of the zombie king.

Canadian blogger Zach Taylor says MTV is in talks to create a Jersey Shore video game where "users can become their favorite character and fight against each other on the streets and in some of the Miami / Jersey Shore hot spots."

Brütal Legend

Jack Black and Ozzy Osbourne are going to star in a new video game called "Brütal Legend". It also features appearances by Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford and Motörhead's Lemmy and will contain more than 100 heavy metal songs.
