What Would Kurt Say?

Courtney Love says Kurt Cobain would have enjoyed playing Guitar Hero. "What p**ses me off the most about it is I think Kurt would be fine with having five Kurt Cobains singing the (Spice Girls) song Wannabe, like, 'Tell me what you want, what you really really want.'... I think he'd find that really funny.

Rewritten

Shinedown drummer Barry Kerch says Brent Smith had to rewrite the lyrics to the Alice in Wonderland song, "Her Name is Alice." "To have Disney approach us and say, 'Hey, you wanna do a song for a Tim Burton-Johnny Depp movie?' -- absolutely!" We're huge fans, of course, and what a cool story, anyway. When we first wrote the songs, Brent (Smith) put lyrics on it based on the book, 'cause we hadn't seen the trailer or anything yet, or even a script. And then when it came time for Brent to lay down his vocals, the trailer was out and he realized it was Tim Burton's version of the story, where Alice is going back to Wonderland, so he changed all his lyrics."

Starting Trouble

Shinedown drummer Barry Kerch says the band may have trouble opening for Nickelback. "We've got 11 hit singles now. You can't fit those all in as an opener. Our goal is to come away with 1,000 more fans - get some of these soccer moms listening to Nickelback to listen to our music."
