Tyler's Fast Ride

Steven Tyler recently dropped a reported $1.1 million to purchase what, according to Jalopnik.com, is the "world's fastest convertible." The Aerosmith singer's new Hennessey Venom GT Spyder reportedly can go from 0 to 200 miles per hour in a mere 15.9 seconds. Only five Venom GT Spyder's will be manufactured in 2012, and the rock legend's is the only one produced as a convertible. Sports-car builder John Hennessey says the modifications to Tyler's Venom GT added 30 pounds to the vehicle's weight, so its horsepower was increased to a whopping 1,244. A series of photos posted online show Tyler checking out his newly-delivered wheels, along with his Aerosmith bandmates Brad Whitford, Tom Hamilton and Joey Kramer.

Lucas Retiring?

For years, visionary filmmaker George Lucas has expressed his desire to leave the "Star Wars business" and make smaller films, but in a new interview with the British movie magazine Empire, it seems this time, he's serious. "I'm moving away from the company," he says of Lucasfilm, the production company responsible for the Star Wars and Indiana Jones sagas. "I'm moving away from all my businesses, I'm finishing all my obligations and I'm going to retire to my garage with my saw and hammer and build hobby movies." Lucas, who recently turned 68, and who last produced and self-funded the World War II film Red Tails, says, "I've always wanted to make movies that were more experimental in nature, and not have to worry about them showing in movie theaters."

Ramsey gets rammed

He’s known for his aggression in the kitchen and is a former Scottish amateur soccer player, but Hell's Kitchen chef Gordon Ramsey ended up flat on his back at a charity soccer match on Sunday, reports People. The Michelin-starred restaurateur took part in a pro-celebrity game on behalf of the charity Soccer Aid in Manchester, England. He was tackled hard by former England national star Teddy Sheringham and had to be administered with oxygen on the sidelines before being taken to a local hospital. Tweeting to his fans on Monday, Ramsey wrote, “Thx 4 all the messages. Out of hospital after receiving amazing care from medics at ground & hospital. Bit sore but fine.” Another casualty of the supposedly friendly game was actor Will Ferrell, who apparently sustained a leg injury. Despite the injuries, the match, which also featured Woody Harrelson, Mike Myers and Ed Norton, raised $6.4 million for charity.

What to Expect From "Living Things"

Fans of Linkin Park can expect the band to explore new creative avenues on their upcoming album, Living Things. Multi-instrumentalist Mike Shinoda says that the band experimented with a variety of genres on the new album. “There are a lot of things about [Living Things] that were really fresh for us,” Shinoda tells ABC News Radio. “There was an infusion of some electronic stuff, an infusion of some folk stuff and then you start mashing that up with like really cutting edge sounds and I think we found some things that were really interesting to us.” Shinoda added that the tracks on Living Things will reflect the band’s ever-evolving songwriting process. “When we get into the studio we want to do something that’s challenging for us and hopefully challenging for the fans,” he explains. “We’ve learned a lot of new things about how to write a song, how to record a song and all of it put together is kind of how we ended up where we’re at right now with the new album and everything. We’re thrilled for people to hear it.” Living Things will arrive in stores on June 26. CHEVY METAL

One of the highlights of the Saturday Night Live season finale this past weekend undoubtedly was the Rolling Stones medley that the Foo Fighters performed with host and musical guest Mick Jagger. After playing "19th Nervous Breakdown" and "It's Only Rock 'n' Roll" on the big show, The Foos and Jagger teamed up again later that night to perform another memorable Stones tune, "Miss You," at the SNL cast's afterparty held in New York City's Rockefeller Plaza. The Foo Fighters, performing as their cover-band alter ego Chevy Metal, also backed up several former and current SNL cast members on renditions of a few other classic rock songs. Amy Poehler sang Joan Jett's "Bad Reputation," Kristen Wiig took on Jett's "I Love Rock 'n' Roll" -- with help from Andy Samberg and Jason Sudeikis -- and Will Forte belted out Black Sabbath's "Fairies Wear Boots." All the fun was captured on fan-filmed video that's currently viewable on YouTube. Read more: HERE See more: HERE

3D ON STAGE

New details have been revealed about Metallica’s upcoming 3D movie, set to be released in 2013. Drummer Lars Ulrich says that the band is hoping that the film will be a unique visual experience for their fans. “You’re not watching Metallica onstage, you’re onstage with Metallica,” Ulrich tells Rolling Stone. “In IMAX, [frontman] James Hetfield is 38 feet tall, snotting on you, spitting on you. It’s 2,000 decibels. If there’s an earthquake outside, you wouldn’t notice.” Hetfield added that the movie will be much more than your average concert film. “Our intention is to make something that is completely insane and blows minds,” explains the singer. “I also want a story line. I want this to be a cult-type film.” In addition, the band has just announced that they will be filming their upcoming show at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, BC, on August 24 for the 3D film. "We couldn't think of a better place than Vancouver to end our three week new stage run with cameras capturing it all, so bring your nuttiest, craziest Metalli-self to the show, be a part of movie history, and show the rest of the world how much Vancouver rocks," said the band in a group statement. Running on air

Most people would feel plenty accomplished if they could finish a half-marathon, and even more so if they trekked the 13 miles for charity. But that's child's play for Aussie Rob Ginnivan. On Thursday, he finished a half marathon while on board a treadmill -- which had been loaded onto a hot air balloon. Ginnivan told the U.K. Telegraph it took him longer than he thought. "What I didn't count on was that the basket actually tilted, so it was like running up a hill. Every time I took a step the basket would sway from left to right so I kind of had this sea type motion being in the air. It was quite bizarre and made it very difficult." Ginnivan is hoping the stunt will help him raise around 70 thousand dollars for a heart foundation.

Of course, there also will be some awards handed out -- lots of them, since Billboard has so many different charts. Van Halen "Postpones" Tour

Van Halen reportedly is postponing an entire run of North American summer concerts. All of the band's previously announced dates after its June 26 appearance in New Orleans have been removed from the tour section of the group's official website, and venues across the country are confirming the postponements. Van Halen recently extended their trek through a September 25 stop in Milwaukee, but now, more than 30 concerts -- starting with a July 7 performance in Uncasville, Connecticut -- apparently will be either rescheduled or canceled. When asked to confirm the postponements, a Van Halen rep told ABC News Radio that all of the band's summer dates currently appear on its website, which -- as previously mentioned -- end with the June 26 show. A source at Uncasville's Mohegan Sun Arena commented to Rolling Stone that the July 7 gig was "selling pretty good -- I don't know why they would say it's being canceled." Meanwhile, a source close to the Van Halen tour tells the magazine that the group's members have been "arguing like mad." Van Halen's tour in support of A Different Kind of Truth, the group's first studio effort featuring original frontman David Lee Roth since 1984, kicked off in February 18.

Bono overtakes McCartney

Bono apparently is set to surpass Paul McCartney as the wealthiest rock musician in the world. NME.com reports that the U2 singer, who owns a 2.3 percent stake in Facebook, is expected see his net worth increase significantly when the social-networking company goes public on Friday. Facebook is valued at more than $100 billion, which will make Bono's share worth in excess $1.5 billion. In comparison, the former Beatles star's fortune is estimated to be slightly over $1 billion. Bono bought his Facebook shares for about $90 million back in 2009 through his private equity company Elevation Partners. Not a bad return on the Irish rocker's investment.

Manson + Depp

Earlier this month, Marilyn Manson released his eighth studio album, Born Villain, which includes a cover of Carly Simon's 1972 hit “You're So Vain,” featuring guest Johnny Depp on guitar and drums. In the latest issue of Rolling Stone, Manson reveals that adding the cover track to the album was a last-minute decision. “Johnny called me and asked if I wanted to record a song, so I went to his studio and we started playing the blues,” explains Manson. “My record was already finished, but we both thought it would be ironic to put ‘You’re So Vain’ on the album.” Manson added that cover track fit in with the other songs on Born Villain because he wanted to explore new creative avenues while making the album. “This record is more like jazz or punk rock or dada,” notes the singer. “I wanted to take what I knew how to do and do it in a way that makes people confused. You can’t be shocking, you can only create chaos -– and confusion is the best form of communication.”

Coldplay & RHCP pay tribute to MCA

At a Friday night concert at the Hollywood Bowl, Coldplay paid tribute to late Beastie Boys member Adam "MCA" Yauch, who'd died the same day of cancer at the age of 47. Frontman Chris Martin sang a piano version of the Beasties' best-known hit, "(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (to Party)," adding the extra line, "And so we're sending all our love to the Beastie Boys" at the end. Amazingly, he made it sound just like a Coldplay song. Meanwhile, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, who were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last month alongside The Beastie Boys, also remembered their late, longtime friend at their Friday show in Newark, New Jersey. Billboard reports that lead singer Anthony Keidis took the stage wearing an "MCA" t-shirt, and told the crowd, "We lost a good man today. He left the world a lot of beauty. I hope you carry that flame. Adam was for real." LINK During the show, the Chili Peppers performed instrumental versions of two Beastie Boys songs: 1992's "Gratitude" and "What'cha Want." When the group left the stage after the show, "(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right" came over the PA system, and the exiting fans sang along.
