Loud & Proud!
NFL stadiums will be louder this year because the league has changed its noise policy. Under a rule that took effect in 1989, a team was not allowed to use scoreboards or Jumbotrons to show messages such as 'Noise!, ' 'Let's hear it!, ' 'Raise the Roof, ' 'Let's go Crazy, ' 'Pump it up, ' or '12th Man'. This rule no longer applys until the play clock reaches 15 seconds. Dome stadium teams, such as the Vikes and Saints, will have a distinct advantage over their opponents.
