Size DOES Matter!

The busiest time of the year for buying televisions started yesterday. The spending period will last until the Super Bowl as consumers use gift cards and leftover Christmas cash to purchase the largest televisions available. Sharp is offering the most expensive set - a 108-inch TV that retails for $100,000. Other expensive sets include:

  • Mitsubishi's 82-inch TV -- It's two yards wide and costs $3,200 (add another $1,000 for 3D)

  • Mitsubishi's 75-inch rear projection with laser -- Includes a service for streaming new movies. Costs $7,000

  • Mitsubishi's 73-inch 3D TV -- So popular, Amazon is sold out. Costs $2,700

  • Panasonic's 65-inch, flat-panel Plasma TV -- Considered a professional-quality picture for gamers. Costs $2,000

  • Samsung's 65-inch LED LCD TV -- It has its own WiFi, and 3D glasses. Costs $6,000
