Linkin Park is ready to give you a taste of their fifth studio album. The band has announced they'll release their first single, “Burn it Down,” next month. Multi-instrumentalist Mike Shinoda posted a short video online in which he reveals that “’Burn It Down’…will be hitting the radio on April 16. Until then, you can go to LinkinPark.com soon to unlock pieces of the song."
In an interview with MTV.com, frontman Chester Bennington gave fans an idea of what they can expect from the new single. “All of our songs take these really big creative turns and twists throughout the process, so sometimes songs will start out as a melody or some musical chord progressions,” says Bennington. ”Other times, they'll start out as beats, and the next thing you know they kind of evolve over the course of the making of the album. But what's interesting about this track is the really high energy and the really strong electronic melodies and hooks kind of set this song apart, which is why we chose it as our first single.”
Linkin Park’s as-yet-untitled album is expected to be released this summer.
