R&RHOF to Induct GnR "Whether Axl Is Present or Not"

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has responded to the open letter Axl Rose issued Wednesday declaring that he was declining his "induction as a member of Guns N' Roses" and wouldn't be attending the ceremony. In his message, the volatile singer maintained that his dealings with Rock Hall officials and comments by some of his former band members made him feel unwanted and disrespected, and he also asked that he "not be inducted in absentia."

Well, the Rock Hall apparently has decided to disregard the GN'R frontman's wishes. Speaking with E! News, a spokeswoman for the institution said, "We are sorry Axl will not be able to accept his induction in person. We are looking forward to still inducting Guns N' Roses this weekend and will proceed forward with our original plan whether Axl is present or not."

It's not clear which other GN'R members chosen for induction -- Slash, Duff McKagan, Izzy Stradlin, Steven Adler, Matt Sorum and Dizzy Reed -- will attend the ceremony, but with Reed being in the band's current lineup, don't be surprised if he's a no-show.
