Superhero Superstar

Patrick Dempsey, who plays Dr. Derek Shepherd on Grey's Anatomy, was able to put his emergency response skills to the test in an unscripted situation. The actor pulled a teenager to safety after the young man's car flipped over near the star's home in Malibu, California last week. The teen, named Weston Masset told ABCNews.com, "I was scared for my life. I was upside down." Dempsey saw the car wreck and he used a crowbar to pry the car doors open. The teen's first words to Dempsey when the actor arrived on the scene were, "Are you famous?" Dempsey, who was not wearing scrubs at the time, responded, "Yeah, I'm a doctor," Masset explained. Dempsey then called paramedics, who arrived and airlifted Masset to the hospital. The teen was lucky to suffer only an eye injury and a concussion.
