Trespass America

On Tuesday, Five Finger Death Punch revealed that the band will be headlining a new hard rock/metal music festival this summer. The festival, called Tresspass America Festival, is a collaboration between 5FDP and UK magazine Metal Hammer designed to bring metal music to the masses. During a press conference with reporters, frontman Ivan Moody said that one of the reasons that the festival was created was to show everyone that hard rock/heavy metal has a place in today’s musical landscape. “We figure that there’s too much common wealth within the modern radio, so [the Tresspass America Festival is] a way for all of us as metal musicians to get out there and make sure they know that we’re still here and we’re not going anywhere,” notes Moody. The Tresspass America Festival will make its debut on July 13 at the 1st Bank Center in Broomfield, CO, and includes stops at a large number of indoor venues, which Moody says was done intentionally. “A lot of these places are indoor and we did it for a reason,” explains the singer. “We want every band on this bill to have full production. Anything they can bring to the table, they’re more than welcome. This is a chance for every band to bring it, 110 percent, no going backwards. This is an event, not just a show.” Moody added than fans shouldn’t expect 5FDP to play any new material at the upcoming shows. “I’ve always had the theory that I don’t work on material when I’m on the road or am involved in anything else,” says Moody. “The guys write, but I refuse to do anything musically until I get off the road and have time to actually let it soak in.” In addition to 5FDP, the event’s lineup will also include Killswitch Engage, Trivium, Pop Evil, Emmure, God Forbid and Battlecross. Tickets for the event will go on sale on Friday. Visit TrespassAmerica.com for complete details.
